There’s rarely a hero and villain

Anonymous:

my parents divorced and fought over my sister when i was younger. i just want to point out that, even if we did have all the facts (which we don’t, we have NO facts), custody fights are messy and there’s rarely a hero and villain. it’s usually just parents who love their kid but may dislike each other or have very different ideas about what’s best for the kid. emotions are high and people get irrational. that’s why it can be good to have a (hopefully) impartial judge step in and settle things.
